Top Mount Intercooler???
Hey guys I had a idea and wanted to run it past you. I have a 06 Scion Tc S/C with a few mods but looking into going big on moding it out.
My idea is to get a STI top mount Intercooler air to air and use it on my scion S/C i know i would have to change the hoses and fab a few thing up but with a vented hood i could help with cooling. I will aslo be running Meth let me know what you guys think and if you think i can pull it off thanks.

They do have kits but there Air to Water and a used one is $2300!!! I was told that there is only 5 kits in the world. Were as the STI top mount intercooler is not going to be as good cuz its only air to air the cost is only $125 then im thinking of using pipe mandrel bends then just adding cupers????
correct me if im wrong but front mount > top mount...this is why all the subi drivers change it to front mount anyway..
fabing up a turbo intercooler kit to a s/c kit shouldnt be to bad.

Im not sure why you would say that. if that ends up being the case, then just get a smaller s/c pulley for more boost. plus your gain from a front mount is definately going to kick the crap out of a top mount, considering the hood is a vent, not a scoop. plus front mounts have a bit more surface area

When you started this thread I did a search for parts and came up with the same parts you are using. Probably better off with something like this though:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INTER...Q5fAccessories I was looking into doing a w2a intercooler so I made a cardboard mock-up to see if it would fit. I didn't go that route, but what I realized is the plastic cover would have to be removed. I'm wondering if the heat soak off the engine would be too much for the intercooler core.
What did u do for cooling???
