Turbo w/ stock ecu

Can you turbo your tc and use the stock ecu? I have looked around numerous places and cannot find a answer.

you can technically...not well or for long. its strongly recommended against

what are the outcomes if you do? I guess I am looking for a cheap alternative without spending hundreds of dollars.

dude, stop. in your attempt to save hundreds of dollars, but will likely cost yourself thousands of dollars.

the stock ECU is not made to work with a turbo, or a supercharger, or nitrous. if you try to do this without a decent piggyback ecu and a tune, your engine will blow, and you'll need a new motor or a rebuild.

you can't tell me you searched, there is somebody on here every other week asking what will happen if they try to drive an untuned turbo tc.

remember, with car mods, you get what you paid for. always, no matter what. you want major reliable horsepower, you gotta pay for it. if you try to cheap out, guess what, you'll car will run into the ground, and you'll be in deep $h!% if this is your only car.

Turbo'ing your car is one thing NOT to cheap out on. To be hoenst, you can find a used FIC with harness for around $450, and some 440 or 550cc injectors used for around $200. So for $650 youll be able to have your turbo car run right and not blow up :) Of course youll also need to pay to have it tuned, so that cost will vary, but in the end youll be glad you did.

If you cant afford the engine management now then just do not install the turbo kit until you have everything you need to make sure it will run correctly. Trust me it will be worth it.
