2005 scion tc gauges (sped and tachometer)
hey everybody, im new to the forum.
i have a 2005 scion tc in white practically all stock, except some leds in the interior and 6000k hids. i was watching a video of another 2005 owner, and when he turned the key in, all of his gauges (speed rpm, fuel) all went and they spun to the max and then back to the bottom, then to where they are(normally). mine go straight to where they are. any way i can make mine do that cool roatate thing? if its a dumb question i apologize, but just wunderin. thanks |
theyre supposed to come stock like that. if you got ur tc used, the previous owner probably disabled it. im prettys sure its in the manual or something. or somewhere in the DIY section
|
hmm, checked the manual in the gauge section and the DIy section. couldnt find it.....
any ideas anybody? |
search for "scion easter eggs" or "scion tc easter eggs" should be able to find it there.

Pretty much all vehicles do that when they first start up - it's a basic test to verify that all the warning lights and guages work properly. I seem to remember seeing something ... somewhere... about how to turn it on and off in the tC. I'm trying, but I don't remember where I saw that.

You could just disconnect the battery for a while. Should reset to default...atleast mine did overnight. Just be sure you know about resetting the window safety crap by holding up the window switches.

If you are talking about the needle sweep at startup..
Leave you key to ON posistion Push the odometer button to change to A or B trip miles Now push and hold, turn the key to off, then turn the key to ON posistion while keep holding down.. Couple of seconds later, you'll see S-on now let go the button... Turn off the car and turn it back on.. it will now sweep... |
Thanks
! And correction. u have to be in TRIP A on the ODOmeter for this to work! |
