Bass is goof for the price. The main advantage is that it nicely fits with the trunk space.

Advantage is it's a self powered piece. No need for any added amp(s). I can't answer the install or sound questions since I don't have one. From what I read on here, they sound ok, but pretty expensive for what you get. If you can find a good deal on eBay (couple hundred bucks max, I'd say), go for it. If you don't like it, throw that bad boy back up and get something else.

Where in cali are you? If you're closeby the LA area, you can look at the dual 10" hidden boxes I make and compare the bass with the bazooka if you buy it. I'd like to hear how it sounds anyway, just for comparison's sake.

Just a tid bit:

I went to a custom audio guy down here in Lynchburg who had done a custom install on the scion tc with stock head unit. I'm guessing the guy wanted to keep the stocker.

But anyways...they installed the bazooka tube and it just wasn't putting out like it needed to. So they hooked an oscilloscope up to head unit to see what was being sent where. And what they found was that from the factory Scion *Toyota* tuned..more like programmed so you couldn't alter the bass frequency down about 10db.

I'm guessing they did this becuase they knew they were marketing it towards a younger crowd and didn't want complaints about speakers being blown..but if that is the case then why not upgrade the speakers before you sell the car. I dunno...but anways here is the guys number and company info.

There are definitely advantages for going with a self powered bass tube! As people have mentioned above...no need for amp etc.

Im located in Inglewood, but work in gardena, I just got my scion TC 2 weeks ago, so im just starting to think about some mods, bass should be the first one, and I really liked the bazooka one b/c it hides perfect in the car, and Im a family man so i dont need really loud loud bass, just something that helps the rest of speakers, Im afraid Im gonna blow them away one of this days b/c I put the voulme up and no bass.. My 05 corolla (with the jbl upgraded system) has more bass b/c of the trunk enclosure...
Peace.

For that much $crill, go with one of these...

Kenwood KSC-SW1 Powered enclosed subwoofer

I have one and it fills the low end in quite well and doesn't take up that much space. It's not "hear me down the block" loud, but it will do the job. Here's a pic of mine installed...

What I will eventually do is build a stand/platform so it can hide on the side just like the Bazooka Sub.

I'm looking at getting that same Kenwood sub. Someone on here installed it in that foam cubby right below where you have yours. If you don't have that filled with stuff, you could put it in there and save yourself the trouble of building any sort of stand or enclosure.

bazooka subs sound s way better with an aftermartket amp . I was lucky i had all the wiring and an extra amp. Sounds alot better with more low end. i dont like the fact that the front speakrs and the sub have to use the same settings.

Don't get the Scion bazooka sub. Keep ALL of your hatch space by going with an Elemental Designs SQ-10, their stealth box, and an ED amp. It may cost a little extra, but you get A LOT more sound.

^^ It has speaker-level inputs, so you should be ok. You can also use an RCA adapter.

It's cool bro! We're all here to learn something.

To make it simple, 'speaker-level inputs' means that you can connect the wires coming from your stock radio going to your stock speakers to the speaker-level input of a device, in this case, the kenwood subs. You directly connect them to each other.

Ok.. so basically is just a matter of positioning the sub, connecting two cables, hide them and voila!!!

Well..you need to add a power wire and a ground wire too. Without those the sub wont work.

Bazooka is too big to fit under the mat without lifting it up a few inches.
