Adding satellite radio
We bought our tC 2 days ago and just got the stereo installed today. Its the the t1806, with the iPod adapter. I know that it is XM ready from the factory according to the book, but I want Sirius. Now obviously the stereo is made by Pioneer, so does that mean a reciever made to connect to a Pioneer HU will work? Example:

The tuner you are looking at is for aftermarket Pioneer units. They connect using Pioneers IP bus data cable. The factory Pioneer head units don't have the IP bus input, they use a different plug.

i have a question since we are in the xm topic......
i just bought my mother an rs3 xa which came equipped with 3 months free xm subscription....funny thing is she hatessss listening to the radio....now i got a tc with a pioneer avh-p6800 double-din which is xm ready......how do i transfer the hardware from the xa into the tc and hook it up to my headunit???...do i need an extra wire???? |
The free XM trial is through XM. Call XM, and give them the radio ID of the 6800, and that should work. You can't transfer hardware like that, but you will need an xm adapter for aftermarket pioneer units.

im still lost....what do i need to do in order to get the xm adapter from my mothers car into mines....hey and how much would u change the headunit leds for????....do i have to take out the radion and send it to u????

You don't take anything out of the old car. You keep your new radio, and buy a Pioneer GEX-P920XM (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...617510,00.html). If you need one, I can send one your way (PM me for a price).
For the radio, I have my prices on my website - www.ledmods.net. Paul |
