Cool Aftermarket Stereo/Headunit

Hello fellow members,

I am proud to say I just got a used Scion TC 2006 which I love.

Since I consider myself an audiophile I was thinking aboutinstalling an expensive aftermarket stereo system with a new head unit (touchscreen, Navigation, the works) I want to stay around 2000$ installed… thiswould mean that it would have to have a bit left over to have it professionallyinstalled as I do not want to mess with my wiring harness on my car. (Badexperiences)

My question now is what parts would you go for?

As a head unit I was thinking the pioneer AVH-X8500BHS. Roughlyaround 650$

But the speakers I have no idea. I believe I know the sizeof the speakers. (The link below will show them)

I would also like to include a sub and a few small amps tokeep the components really kicking. Also since I am kind of picky, I want thesystem to be discrete, meaning that the subs would need to not be sitting in a1’ by 3’ box in the truck, but instead tucked away. (Hence why I said smallamps)

I’d love to hear opinions and see pictures if any are outthere J

I read your [posting but as I am a picky person too. I looked up the cd player as I am now interested in it. I personally have th Pioneer AVH-P2300 and want to upgrade mine to one that has the app radio. like the on you listed above.... but...... you will need to buy the AVIC-U250 for it for the navigation and that is between 300-400$ depending where you go. Now you could judt buy the radio off of ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...at=0&_from=R40

or Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...s=AVH-X8500BHS

For a cheaper price and also do the same for the AVIC-U250. Mine requires the AVIC-U220 and its the same price as the one you'll need for that cd/dvd player.

avic-u250

but if you got the dough go for this it has built in navigation:

as for the subs speakers and all that stuff i am not the person to talk to about that but i hope this helped

It doesn't have built in Navi. You need to buy an extra part like above or a cable to plug your iphone into so the radio can use your GPS. I found out I rarely even use the Navi so I am good with it.

Not really. I am still stock on mine at least I think it's still stock speakers. I'd go for some kenwoods that's what I would go for. As for subs idk that's something that never interested me.

You're an audiophile, but you want to go with a navi head unit? Also, $2k will be pretty entry level if you're looking at getting premium components. I've easily spent $4k on my most recent setup, and finally feel I've got something decent. If you want to step up to audiophile level, do yourself a favor and get a head unit that focuses on pure music reproduction. Most navi units, including Alpine use a pin-plug converter for RCAs, which defeats the point of even trying to achieve a decent audio system. Keep it simple and clean, using top-level components, and you can't go wrong.
