Default Anybody had a drivers seat squeaking?

Go figure. At 36,877 miles (warranty) the drivers seat begins creaking when on curves. Has anybody experienced this in their tc? What to do to remedy this?

I had a similar issue. I had some sort of squeak that I thought was coming from the seat but it turned out it was coming from where the buckle attaches to the seat. I just took out the seat and put some lube on that spot then put it all back together.

My driver seat squeaks in my 2012 XB. I thought it sounded like it came from the seatbelt area too. i will try and find the source and throw some good ol' DubyaD40 on it!

there was a TSB on that.. It was about a squeak or rattle. Turns out they cut off the locating pins where the seat track guide pins into the floor are. Might want to try a little grease there first. Easier than having to hack off part of the frame.

the passenger side seat on my 2010 tC squeaks while my driver side is quiet. So there was a TSB for it? Damn tC has way too many problems there is that seat issue, need to check on the TSB for excessive oil consumption, and my AC has been a never resolved issue since I bought it brand new.

not to get too off topic but about your a/c. I've seen personally where dealers ONLY charge the a/c refrigerant up to the MINIMUM!! not the maximum allowed. R-134a isn't that efficient not like the old R-12, so to make it the coldest, the system should be charged up to the MAXIMUM (tag under your hood says what max is). I caught the dealer doing that to mine, took it to another dealer where they charged it all the way up.. Result? cold now! something to look into.

the tsb for the excessive oil consumption is because they didn't thread correctly (not deep enough) the bolts that hold the head to the engine block! If your car is under warranty they'll rebuild the engine, top end. sad but true, it was a mile long tsb, I saw it..

but this shows you the pins.. I'd just grease these up instead of cutting them.. some thick grease should do the trick to keep it quiet

My AC literally shuts off on me when it wants to and when it works there is like a clunking type noise. Dealer claims they can't replicate it so it's not broken. Going to another dealer to try and get all those issues sorted out.

I appreciate the answers.

However this TSB is for up to '07 tc's. Will they honor it for mine? Also since Im out of the body warranty will they fix for free?

Lastly, where can I get a list of ALL TSB's that pertain to my car?

thanks

no i doubt that any toyota dealer would do anything for FREE for you. All I would do is take the 5 bolts out that hold the seat to the floor, it's a 14mm size bolt head. Find those pins and grease them up with an automotive grease (something thick), and then put the seat back in. Bolt it down, the torque setting is 30 ft-lbs (yeah i used a torque wrench for everything in the car). That shouldn't take more than 20min, why pay the dealer for that?

A full list of tsb's? i think that's in the FAQ's here stickied somewhere.
