Background sound from iPhone/iPod

So I got a T1806 off of someone here on the forums and installed it into my 05 tC. After hooking up the iPod cable from eBay (yeah yeah...might not be great quality) from the user "ipod-world-wide", I can hear this strange background noise on quiet songs. It sounds like it's coming FROM the iPod almost like the sound of the hdd inside the iPod. Anyone else get this?

Was thinking about wrapping the cable up in insulation but if it's from the iPod itself, it probably wouldn't help...any thoughts?

You got a bunk cable. Get a better one. The noise you are hearing is the cable picking up the interference internal noise from inside your Ipod. If you try it with a device with a SSD (No moving parts) my bet is that you won't have an issue.
