I'm trying to take the entire cigarette lighter assembly out of the center console panel. I'm talking every piece, so that all is left is a plastic hole.

Anyone done this yet? I can get everything out except the last metal frame.

the same problem here ,let me know when you get the metal out , how do I replace it ,I went to auto part ,and only what they have is universal ,it doesn't match with the original plastic plug....help

 

there are prong holing it in and you have to twist

 

Twist what? The metal body inside the plastic holder?

 

Yes. from behind, gently, easily, the black cover comes off. then take some pliers and gentle grab and twist just the silver metal and PUSH it out. It will slip out 1/2 inch, then grab the front of the silver lighter and twist and gently PULL it out. Once the silver lighter is almost to the end, gently angle turn and pull it thru. There is a black sideways plastic piece to twist out. The silver NEVER comes out of the black things, they all pull out.
