So ive been hearing lately that quite a few people want to take their dash off.
This diagram has been floating around forever but obviously some people still havent seen it. So here it is.

Don't forget to unplug the airbag (passenger side) before you pull too hard.

 

Just unplug the negative from you car battery! Its safer^

 

yes, you should unplug the battery before you do this. but the airbag come out WITH the dash, so you need to unscrew and unplug it before you can get the dash completely off.

 

i should really mark stuff as mine when i capture the images from the manual...

Revival from the dead! To access the bolt <B> or <C> do I need to remove the A pillar? It is hard to tell from the diagram.

 

yes. you need to remove the pillar.

 

Everyone make sure when you do this to unplug the -neg battery terminal and you have to WAIT 90sec before starting to unplug/mess with the dash.

Yes you can do that. I'm just trying to save people's lives so the air bag does not blow up in there face.

 

airbags deployment is based off a signal sent from velocimeters.
i fail to see how unplugging it would deploy it.
but thats just me.

 

yea.. i leave the battery connected even when i take apart the steering wheel.

 

That being said. Do I need to replace any sensors that would make the bags go off.

Does anyone know how that works.

Yes.

 

You will have to replace all the deployed airbags, any damaged sensors, and possibly replace the SRS ECU
