Default Disconnecting the Door Chime

I know in a lot of cars, there is a white box under the dash that houses the door chime for when the driver door is ajar. I've looked around here and can't find how to do that in the tC. If anyone has any links or can show me some pictures or an explanation, I would really appreciate it.

hmm.. it's located on the backside of the circuitboard for your gauge cluster....

yea... have fun taking that off....

it's obviously there for a reason. why don't you just remove the key or turn the car on when the door's open?

It's normally for when I have my radio on when I'm cleaning my car, but don't want the car on, I have that annoying beep for god knows how long. Not a huge deal, I just didn't know if there was an easy way. Thanks for the info though!

Yeah, I guess I was under the impression that leaving it like that for any extended ammount of time would kill the battery... Am I wrong there? I don't know..

you can always just put some duct tap or use a clamp to push to keep the button down...

Well I'm not talking about hours here, maybe 30 mins to an hour.

During my LED swap, we had my HU and interior lights on for close to 3 hours without the battery going dead.

I just started the car every hour or so to let the alternator refresh the battery, idk if that works or helps but I was fine.

I really don't think interior lights take up that much power at all.... especially LEDs (of course).

I think things that drain your battery would be stuff like leaving your headlights on, your stereo on at high volume/aftermarket system left running for a long time with the engine not running.

Yeah I thought of the button, but that would kill my interior lights, so that's a no too. I guess that this whole idea is scratched because I am too lazy to deal with the gauge cluster.

that is true. Our cars really don't "chime" at all. To tell you the truth, the only time I've heard a chime is in the few domestic cars I've been in. Seems like Japanese or Japamerican vehicles tend to have no-nonsense (and kind of annoying) beeps.
