I'm thinking about getting a new iPod, and I wanted to know if the new ones work with the iPod connector for the avic-d3.

 

same connector as all other "normal" ipods.

 

yeah it connects, but from what i read, the new ipods have different firmware that works off with the d3.

 

Seems like his question is answered, so I will threadjack a little. Is it possible to plug a non-ipod (zune) into the D3?

hey bearsfan, yes u can plug the zune into the d3 but ur gonna have to control everything through the zune where as the ipod, u can control from the deck.

As for greo, i read this thread from what i remembered and yes there are some issues with watching movies on the d3 via ipod classic or new ipod versions.

If i were you, try and find a new or decent version 5.5 ipod video running at 60 gb.

 

iono if they have fixed it but.. the new ipods and the touch all have problems updating the song display on the screen, and also there is a sequence to play the videos from the ipod on the screen.

 

to play the videos on the screen all u have to do is press play on the ipod and THEN plug it in after it is already playing. Kinda tedious but it will due until pioneer or Apple come up with a solution.
