Default Floor mat question?

Hi, Im looking for a set of 05 scion tc floormats here and there, went to the dealership and they said they didn't have any for the 05 only for a 08-10 that said it wouldn't fit any other year. My question is, is that are the floormats really different, or can I just buy any set of floormats made for a tc, i was looking at these of ebay.

Do they look like they will fit a 05 tc?/ thanks guys.

uhm i am pretty sure they didnt change the floor design of the tC, so whoever at the dealer told you that is retarded.

I guess possibly it is because your might not have the hook on the floor to hold the driver side mat, but they will fit in there fine

They do have the newer floor mats out now.
I don't believe the shape and sizes of the new ones are any different, but they DO look different.

Btw, they aren't making the older ones anymore.
The older style do fit any year though.

those newer ones suck if that's the case. i have the older style and removed the carpeted section. i've never needed to use it. carpet sucks.

^^ yeah i agree, not having the 2in1 mats sucks.. Scion is going cheap. OR... BEING quiet and changing the design of the rubber all-season mats because of that massive recall associated with the stuck gas pedal on all those other Toyota cars. Since the tC shares the same design!

Mine have never slipped with the hooks, and it sort of kills me that when something like that happens people panic so much and dont even try to figure out the problem, all it would take is a simple look down and a pull on the mat. If my gas pedal got suck my first instinct would to be to look down at the pedal

^^ oh mine haven't come loose either. I am wondering if that's why Toyota stopped making the 2in1 since they are similar to the rubber all-season mats in other toyotas.. except our carpeting was removable.

Could be, also they are probably trying to save money. they are already going to loose a lot of money because of the law suits against them for the accidents. I heard one of the 911 calls for it and it was pretty crazy. The pedal got stuck and they were doing like 120 and then the road ended.

^^ yeah it was an off-duty CHP officer. Sad the guy didn't know how to put the car into neutral! I've heard the lexus shift pattern is confusing because of the + - sport shift.

but yeah i like the 2in1 mats we do have, and sad we can't get them anymore as they're discontinued (in case ours wear out)

Chances are you won't find many of the older-style floor mats.

FYI... 2005 floormats were 2-in-1 however the difference is the driver's side was ALL carpet..

after noting that alot of people who drove manual wore that section down quickly.. the 2006+ were equipped with the SAME floormats.. however for the driver side carpet part, were was a section of rubber.

THAT'S THE ONLY DIFFERENCE

@getaforknjob.. those mats you posted pictures of are NOT for a tC.. looks like it's for an xB..

@sciontc_mich: afaik.. they haven't changed a single thing and are still selling the 2-in-1 floor mats.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Scion-Tc-Floor-M...#ht_1469wt_939

That is what trdsparks shows too, if that is the case they are not the same as what was before.

*Edit: actually trd sparks shows exactly what getaforknjob posted
