Default Footwell LEDs

Sorry for the new thread, I searched around on SL, oznium, and scion tc forums and I couldnt find a DIY or a diagram. Just two questions: What length of LED strip is bright enough for the footwells. And how do I wire up the footwell LEDs to go on with the car lights/and a switch if not too hard. Thanks for any help!!

i just have two super flux leds in each footwell, then i wired them to the cig lighter with one of ozniums OEM-like swithes in series with whole circuit.

the cigarette lighter it powered whenever the ignition is on. that way they wont be pulling from the battery whenever the car is off.

you may want 3 or 4 LEDs in each though, while 2 gives enough light, i had a hard time even dispersing the light to make it look good.

Why don't you just get Oznium's Cold Cathode Strips? They will light up and disperse light much better than wiring individual bulbs (LEDs)

I have a 9.5" flexible LED strip (from Oznium) in each footwell and they definitely are the perfect size with excellent light dispersement. The LED strips have a sticky backside so its very easy to mount it on the panel under the glovebox (passenger's side footwell). For the driver's side footwell, I bought a wooden dowel (about 1/2" thick) and zip tied the LED strip to the dowel then zip tied the dowel to some sturdy parts under the dash. They work perfectly and are nicely hidden out of view (assuming you mount the passenger side strip far enough to the back).

Check out http://www.oznium.com/forum/how-to-diagrams for details on how to wire them up.

Depending on what color you want the LEDs from Oznium are awsome........one thing I do not liek aboutthe cathodes are they can be fragile.........they are extremly bright though..........flex strips are probably the best way to light it up and they are nearly indestructable........

Cathodes looks cool b/c of their nice continous glow. LED's are brighter. BTW u can make the dealer OEM LED footwells for a lot cheaper.

What would I need to make my own footwell LEDs? I can get all materials I just need to know what and how to make it

So to make sure I'm getting this right, I need a scion LED rocker switch and two 9.5in flex LED strips. I need to ground the black wires, need to tap into the fuse box on the fused side with the ghetto rig for the switch, ground the LED switch, connect LED switch to LEDs and mount them. Right? Thanks for all the help so far!!

I'm going to be using Oznium's 4-chip led's. They are way brighter than the 5mm. A girl in our club has some and they are hella bright. We have a night show coming up this Saturday. I'll take some pics and see if I can get info from the owners and let you guys know what each has along with a pic.

Its easy to tap into pre-existing wires and do a gauge color swap, but when your doing something that can start a fire you want to make sure first . Is it worth it to buy some 4 chip leds and toss them into a circuit board and make my own?
