Default Help me choose a new sub

My old Kenwood 12" blew, so its time for a new sub. I have a eD Nine.2, giving 400 watts RMS. What Sub do you think would be best. So far I have found the Image Dynamics IDQ that has me interested.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the help!

I have an alpine type r that handles 500 rms + 1000 max. redoing my system right now, going to have 2 type r's with 2 Boston acoustics gt-24 that pushes 750 Watt - 2 Ohm each

they are good thump for the money

i just put the Type R in about a week ago, and I could not be more happy with the way it sounds. The bass hits really hard. The Type X is a step up. A little pricier but your car will really **** with that one.

i'm gonna throw out my usual opinion of Kicker but that's only cuz that's most of my ssytem. just depends on if you are wanting clarity with a little bass or wanting an all out car shaking sub.

check sonicelectronix.com or hifisoundconnection.com for great deals that's where i've bought all of mine

I've got the 12" type r's in my room waiting for a box and my alpine mono amps to be ordered. I've only heard good things about this setup.

Since everybody is blurting out brands left to right....

Stereo Integrity Mag v4
Diamond Audio D6
Boston Acoustics G5
Fi Car Audio SSD Series
Elemental Designs e3.12
Elemental Designs e5.12

These are SQL subs that would match well with you RMS power requirements.

agreed. their older ones from a few years back were pretty good, but they've kinda sunk to being the best buy brand

i know some installers at BB near me and they say they get pushed to sell those and their amp kits there for a while. i remember the ones when i was in hs (black w/ red RF on them were pretty good)

They shouldnt be pushed to sell anything. We are all non commision. I tell people how it is, whats good and bad. I dont care if they dont buy from me, as long as I get to install it. Builds a great customer experience and they always come back to me.

If you do decide to go with the type R make sure it is in the correct box and you have enough power going to it. The eD should do it. Just make sure the specs on your sub box are correct.

My friend has the new RF p3s and they hit hard and haven't had a problem but for your power I wouldn't recommend them. Plus they are mostly just for loud bass they don't sound that good. I say go Elemental Designs or Alpine
