How do I remove the Headliner and Pillars?
yeah instructions would be great!...2 more questions... what you guys using to mount the fabric? like what adhesive and 2.... anyone know how many yards of fabric to do the headliner, pillars, and door inserts? just curious! let me know if u can thanks!
First take the power from battery and disconnect.......wait 5 minutes, start with dome lights, handles, coat hooks, visors.
Then take out trunk floor and back seats so you can take out back panels easier, trust me it is way easier to do it like this.
Then take out the back panel by the rear windows, it is held on by a black clip that is the airbag safety clip, pain in the butt to remove, you will need to reorder it from dealership before reinstall, only cost $1.57 each.
Then you can remove the seat belt pillar, undo the seat belt from floor mount and remove the pillar cover, it has 2 screws at bottom and once out you lift it up and out to unhook from the hinge clip at top.
Then front pillars are the hardest.they too have a airbag safety clip it is about 8"down from top. Grab pillar and pull out just a bit,you will see the white clip and the air bag strap, not much room, I used dikes and cut the clip on all 4 sides sine not reusing and my pillars came right out.
At this point you have 2 pins in rear of ceiling for headliner, all other parts off headliner should be out now.remove the last two pins and give it a tug straight down, it is sticky Velcro holding it on,there is the dome light wire that is taped to the liner that you have to remove.
Once it is all out you have to zip tie the wire up out of your way till reinstall and pay attention to how it is ran so you can do it again.
There is one more piece right up against the side rear window that just pulls straight down. Having a friend there with a extra hand is a good thing, I used my 13yr old son to help.
The airbag clips cost about $8 for the 4 of them at any dealership and they can order and have them in about 24 hours, but most people who pull the headliner have it out for weeks getting it sueded, I know mine took over 80 hours to finish.

yea this is def a project to do if you aren't showing for a while or dont care to drive w/o the headliner. i'm waiting until next winter when i have the time to do it right. only question... b-pillars look to be a little more difficult. any suggestions brian?
jsut to remove the headliner or to suede it.......to remove it it can be done in about 45 minutes tops in a non airbag car,in a airbag car it is harder cause you have harder time gettgn the panels away form the liner cue tot he airbag clips........to suede.......well that depends on how good you are at it........mine took probably 20 hours to do the headliner, maybe a little less but I doubt it......cause the whole interior took me just over 80 hours to do,but I am kinda slow and had to do after work .

You can try and Send him a PM (Private Message). I willing to Bet, he is Long Gone and so are his PM Instructions to Remove Headliner.
