I has a knob!

I got a new toy in the mail today...

http://downloads.allankintz.com/tC/IMG_1982.jpg

Custom weighted delrin knob and collar from the Isotope Collection!

A comparison for size:

Literally just got it from the mail and put it on... so I haven't driven with it yet. But I likes it so far!

Current Dr Isotope items: cooling plate, cf battery strap, cai fender panel, delrin knob/collar, custom sub box ON THE WAY!

Looks clean! Where'd you get it? How much?

STNC 06-14-2007 08:50 PM

Its from doctorisotope.com

Daskid 06-14-2007 10:23 PM

Too busy looking at the pics. Didn't bother reading.

Damn noobs. :silly:

Went for a drive to see what I thought... LOVE it. Something about the difference from the textured OEM one to this smooth one just makes it nicer. :)

BeetC 06-14-2007 11:56 PM

How's it fit in your hand? I'm a fan of the ball-type knbos, but this one looks interesting...

ack154 06-15-2007 12:06 AM

I think it fits well... for my style anyways. I tend not to palm it that much but grab it on the side and wrap my hand around it. So my ring finger ends up wrapping down below the top part.

And just for clarification... I'm describing my hand and the shift knob in my car... and nothing else. :silly:

Tcguy85 06-15-2007 01:25 AM

Ya, I've done just about everything else short of changing the clutch/flywheel...

Short shifter, brass cage risers, brass cable bushings... and now a nice weighted knob. I don't think I could drive a stock 5spd anymore without cringing. :)

GammaTNT 06-30-2007 04:59 AM

i just got it today, it sits a little higher than the TRD knob. It is not bad,
I wish i had got a round one .
I need some time to get use to it.

 um, nice knob!

Tcguy85 06-30-2007 11:55 PM

does Dr I sell a weighted one that would keep it the same height as the stock knob? i like exactly how low my stock one sits with the creative compacts shifter.

ack154 07-01-2007 12:13 AM

You'd have to ask him how high they actually sit.

yea i just sent him an email. i bought a nice razo 400gram knob but it sat waaaay to high and left a huge gap so i wasn't happy with it.

ack154 07-01-2007 02:56 AM

I'm sure he could really do whatever you like. Highly recommended. I have just about everything he offers... haha!

DuMa 07-01-2007 05:25 PM

does it run hot in the summer weather? burn your hand yet?

Dr_Isotope 07-01-2007 05:27 PM

Delrin is pretty much temperature neutral. It will get warm, but never uncomfortably so. The same goes for cold.

Ya, can't speak for cold yet... but in the few weeks I've had it, not once has it been hot enough that I didn't feel find holding on to it to shift -and it's been left in the sun plenty of times in that period.
