Default idle problem

hey guys. i installed an alpine HU last night. and today when i was driving my car, the car shook a lot when it was in idle. and when im breaking.. almost at a stop.. the car feels like its going to stall. (manual car) any clues why this might be happening?

I'm guessing you had your battery unplugged?

Typically if you disconnect the neg on the battery for more than a couple of minutes, you need to let the car idle for 10 min or so when you first start it again. It resets the ECU and it has to relearn its fuel mapping based on the air intake. Something like that anyway.

I'd say disconnect it one more time for a few minutes... connect it again... then start the car and let it idle until it goes back to normal.

well if you did disconnect your battery when u installed your head unit. ack154 is right about your ecu needs to reset. if you noticed your windows do not do the one touch up and down you need to reset those also

oh sorry. haha. nope i didnt have sirius. so thats not the problem. i did what the other guy told me. i unplugged the battery and replugged it. then let the car idle for about 10 min. i guess the cpu needed time to reset. its fine now. thanks
