interior scratches!

Do you guys know of any product that can remove chips or scratches (or cover them up) for the silver center console of the TC?

Andrew1782 01-31-2007 04:39 PM

Spray paint? Just kidding. can you take pics. Depends on how deep they are really?

schwettynuts 01-31-2007 04:43 PM

Ive seen nice spray painted console that looks so good you cant even tell it wasnt done professionally.

smakusdod 01-31-2007 04:52 PM

they aren't that deep, but it is black because the silver was definitely scratched off... does that help? I'll post pics in a couple hours, but if you know of anything off hand? i'm thinking even a paint pen might do the trick, but what color??

If you want to cover it up completely instead of just fixing the scratches, there are several kits out there like this:

They sell these pens to fix scratches on electronics with silver color. Let me google it for you.

yeah... i kind of want to avoid going the applique route, but i'm not closed to it. Does it just stick on? how much "thickness" does it add to the look of the dash?

I have an area that I scratched too so this would be helpful for me too.

Also on another note, whats something that could remove duct tape residue on the black part of the lower center console (plastic I guess). I tried nail polish remover but I guess it wasn't strong enough. Anything stronger but not strong enough to damage the plastic?

take the dash apart and spray paint it. I bought this paint Silver Ash Metallic or something by DupliColor and it was a 99.999% match against stock to cover up my scratches, then took a BSP touch up pen and painted the indented SCION and the four raised bumps, it looks REALLY SICK and unique I have pictures at home I can send if you want

Try Goo Begone

To fix the scratch I guess buy your self silver marker (better than black scratch)

Ya I tried the silver marker way, made it look a bit better, but the color of the silver isn't exactly the same.
If it is a small scratch, try toothpaste-that worked on some of mine

shredzor 02-02-2007 12:22 PM

can i ask where you got the silver marker, and maybe brand??

sosgal721 02-02-2007 06:19 PM

I just went to the arts and crafts store, and got a few different brands, the silver sharpie seemed to work the best...
