Default Ipod & 2005 tC

Hi all:

I've done a lot of searching on this topic on the forums and have received confusing/unclear results. So I thought I'd ask the question straight-out.

I have the standard Pioneer stereo (single disk) in my 2005 tC. It has "T1804" on the face. I'd like to hook up my Ipod and be able to control it via the stereo.

Has anybody been successful?

Thanks

Nope. You have to get a 3rd-party HU or the 2006 HU.

^^^ True dat
Believe it or not, it was a big reason I bought the tC.
Everyone I show is in love.
Now I know people will chime in that there are much cooler HU's out there, and maybe they're right, but the Pioneer SCION HU rocks (for me)
When it comes time to resell, having nice stock options will get you more money on average than loads of 3rd-party stuff.
The exception being someone looking exactly for what you're selling.

you can probally find the 06 HU on ebay for around $400 last time i checked? or you can go aftermarket? alpine and pioneer is pretty much IMO the best aftermarket HU out there!

I have the alpine HU with the ipod hooked up and wooks great! Im fixing to get one of the 06 alpine HU's that just came out!

if your wanting to stay stock, id say buy the 06 HU and sell your 05? IDK if the 05 well sell much but....its worth a try?

To go a bit off-topic here, I've been working on getting my mom's iPod to work with her 2006 xA through the AUX jack which the dealer said could be used to attach portable devices.

Problem is, there's no way to select the AUX jack through the system. Turns out she has a T1804 head unit which was used in the 2004 models.

Am I wrong, or does she have a 2006 with a 2005 head unit?

If there's no AUX button, try pressing "disc" twice.

What kind of 'controls' are you looking for? Here's a link that might help you out...

My iPod Connection

I have an '05 HU and this works great! I can fast forward, rewind, and change tracks with the HU. I can't 'search' for songs on my iPod through the HU, but the click wheel takes care of that. (Much quicker than some 3rd party HUs.) You also might want to check out this sticky...

THE tC iPod Thread

Enjoy!

Doesn't do a thing.

Thanks, though.
