JL Audio or Infinity Subs?
So I've been looking on craigslist and I've found two great deals. One is two 10" JL Audio w3's and another is for two Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1's. Which subs should I get? I want good, tight bass. Loudness isn't really that important. In your guys' opinions, which ones are better?
The infinitys are listed for 180
The JL Audios are listed for 100, but they are the first "version", not v2 or v3
I'm thinking of putting them in two Bassforms Scion tC enclosures and I'll probably power them with a JL audio 1000/1 amp

^^ as long as the gains are set correctly - the full 1000 won't be getting to the subs... Use a DMM to get the wattage down to about 600-700 and you'll be fine
I personally would just get the 500/1.... much more suited to the 10w3 pair...

Ok well it seems everyone prefers the JL Audio. I really like the Infinity Kappa Perfects because they are practically brand new while the w3's are an older version, so the age and use difference makes me a little uneasy.
I've been rockin Infinity (Harmon Kardon company)subs for a while now. If you do some research.... Infinity hands down has higher power handling numbers and beats out JL w3's by 2.1db on the sensitivity ratings. Not knocking JL, they put out good products. But for the amount of air space needed and the amount of power I'm supplying the subs the Infinity was the better choice out of the two. Also check out Audiobahn subs...... they're rated better than Infinity's. Pretty much it's going to be personal preference. Don't go by what other people want...... get what you want. Hope you find the right sub.
