Is my head unit blown? I did something stupid :(
Well, My head unit was on while I was fiddling with my amp. I moved the amp and the remote lead and ground accidentally came out of their terminals. The head unit was still playing, but then I turned the car off. Now, it won't turn on at all. I'm really afraid that I destroyed something. What do you guys think? It's an Alpine IDA-x100.

Have you checked your fuses yet? Probably shorted something.

How exactly do i tell if a fuse is blown?
blown fuse will look like this

thanks for that pic, helped a lot. If i'm correct, it's the ACC fuse? If that's the case, then it's blown. Hopefully a new one will solve this.

should fix it
yeah, it was just the fuse thank god. Now i have to figure out what's wrong with my amp and why it's not giving my sub any power! People weren't kidding when they said the Alpine MRV-F545 is confusing, or I'm just dumb. I think it's a combination of both.

im just curious as to how you do not know about checking fuses with all the mods you have
you said you disconnected the remote wire, any chance you forgot to hook it back up?
no no, it wasn't that. I just blew the fuse, replaced it and it's fine now. whew.
always check for the easiest things first, like someone said, the fuse
Whats going on with the amp?
Amp was broken, probably when I got it. I guess I got ripped, the guy who sold it to me won't return my calls, etc. I also didn't meet him at his house, so no address. I'm a strong believer in karma so hopefully something really bad happens to him.

oh wow, i thread that benefits my problem...which one is the acc fuse?
