I think im gonna try this with the XKO5 module so you dont need the key at all. Then take out or disable the cylinder for the steering wheel lock. Good write up bro, but did you use speaker wire?

30 or 40 relay, i went to radio shack and i couldn't decide which one to get

Ya thats what you will need. It has an 85, 86 for the coil, 30 as your common and 87a and 87.

 

so i just wont use the 5th pin?

 

correct you will not use 87a. The relay rests at 87a. Basically when the relay gets energized it will switch whatever power you have on 30 to 87.

You could, only problem is the steering wheel lock. What to do to remove that and fill in the hole.

Awesome post. I plan on doing this soon. I have a question though. I have a 5spd. Don`t know if that will make a difference. But I DON`T want to be able to start the car with the key at all. When I turn the key to "start" i want it to do nothing. I plan on hiding the push button as kind of a "safety feature." Is there a wire I can disconnect to do this or what? Sorry if its a stupid question or if it has already been answered.

 

Im sure you could always cut the starter wire from the key side and butt connect the starter wire to the relay.

 

I thought about that. But theres two starter wires right? Which one would i cut? I'm sure its an easy anwser. But like most people i'm new to this mod.

As for the relays im not sure if you would be able to use other kinds.

You also have to tap both starter wires as shown in the diagram with two relays.
