Default Rear Speaker Well Size???

Does anyone know how much mounting depth there is in the rear well? Right under the rear speakers? I have only seen it in pictures and it seems like a good 3-4 inches. Can anyone confirm this?

Please see the example below,
Has anyone ever tried mounting a shallow mount sub in there?

Thanks

definitely a couple of inches to play with there. mounting a sub might be difficult, but there is plenty of room for a shallow mount. ive seen a few people actually stick amps in there, gotta figure thats atleast 2 inches, plus an inch clearance, plus whatever it was mounted in.

i would look into the dayton low profile neo woofers, the 8 is just 2.5" deep, the 12 comes in at just over 3.5 inches deep. a very good option for the price.

nice I was bumping because I am trying to buy some speakers from the clasified section, but they are 6 3/4 and i know the rear is either 5 1/4 or 6.5 I have adaptors at home for 6.5 speakers on a 5 1/4 hole but then not sure if the 6 3/4 will fit

i am almost positive our rear speakers are 6.5s...thats gotta be listed in a sticky somewhere

apparently the stock speaker is 5.5 inches. given the space around it, either a 6.5 or 5 1/4 should fit with an adaptor plate. i just disconnected mine and ran a good comp set up front, something id suggest looking into ;)

yep rears are like 5.5" but you can fit 6.5" back there in its spot as i've got 6.5's in the stock location

I have enough room back there to shove 2 JBL power amps (one in each side), and JBL GTO components (front and rear). There is a decent amount of room back there.
