You don't have to use an adheasive, but it will look much better if you do because it will form to the curve by the handle. One guy did it on clubsciontc.com and did a really good job here's the link: http://www.clubsciontc.com/forum_thr...adhesive-.html

Yeah, knowing how to sew is a big part of it. I have magazine that gives you step my step on how to do it. It dosen't look hard, just having it hold together. Luckly my mom is seamstress so I'll just haver here do it!!! :P

HaYnSktC 03-06-2008 03:34 PM

haha i was gonna have my gf do it too =)
just been slacking and not giving her material
also to make it easier you can use the stock seats as a template.just gotta take it apart haha

tCjayde 03-06-2008 03:39 PM

I did mine in hot pink silk before i decided to go with my color change. It's not hard =)

smilezdc 03-06-2008 03:46 PM

hahaha im hoping soo...

joeya28 03-11-2008 06:53 AM

you just take the fabric off the seat and
cut the old fabric out ( with a seam splitter)
and sew the the new fabric back in?

i know nothing about sewing im just guessing and trying to figure out if i can do that myself hahaha

HaYnSktC 03-11-2008 07:01 AM

well what i would do is take the fabric off the seat and cut the pieces out (like you said)
and then trace it onto the new material but make sure to cut the pieces a lil bigger so when you sew it back and to account for the cushion too heh

AcidDrop 03-11-2008 07:04 AM

that is good to know about the DIY link.

joeya28 03-11-2008 06:13 PM

haha this is gonna be a fun project. my friends mom is a seamstress maybe ill seek her help

smilezdc 03-11-2008 06:16 PM

mmm... i actually wasnt thinking about redoing the seats.. i was thinking about the doorpanels.. hahahhahaha

It would be about the same... Other than you dont really have to sew. Find a nice fabric that has a little stretch to it. Take off the stock fabric, spray your adhesive, and cover it with the new fabric. it's much easier if you leave it a little larger than the actual panel so you can wrap it around to the back. To make sure it doesnt come off at the edges.

I know thats not too detailed but everyone does it different.

oh okay.. hahahha i was getting all scared when people were talking about sewing and stuff...

THANKS !

Some people like to make a seam where there is the bend in the panel for the controls for the windows. It makes it easier for the fabric to make the shape. but if you have a fabric with some stretch to it, you should be fine

JohnniiBoyyy 03-13-2008 01:03 AM

how long should the new fabric be for the 2 front door panels and the 2 backseat panels.. and where can i get it =]

tCjayde 03-13-2008 01:28 AM

you can get it at any fabric or craft store... like micheals or joanns or even walmart. depends on what you want. and, for me, 2 yards did the trick for all four pieces with alot left over.

joeya28 03-13-2008 10:06 PM
