its all on what you preferr and what you budget is. CDT Audio gets my vote.

Well first question is gonna be are you amping the speakers,if so you only need front ones and get components,as the backs will just cancel out each other and make it sound bad in side car.Now if you are just running off of a deck then front and back might be ok,but even then rears are not really needed.....I would just do a front speaker and amp.

Second question is what budget do you have, that really tells us what you can do,also do you plan to upgrade in the future, are you gonna sound deaden the car, subwofer, sealed sub or vented, lots of things like rock/metal or club/rap music.

my budget is wide open no range really and yeah im going to upgrade in the future too with two tens and an amp obviously. my friends built a custom box where the foam is by the spare for hidden subs which i am purchasing. for right now though i would like something better because i have an 05 and it didnt come with the i pod connector. i purchased a wire from radio shack and hooked it up but when i am driving with the windows down i have to turn the volume up to 60 (63 maxes out) just to hear the music. so i was looking to do something now with plans to upgrade more in the future

then your first purchase should be a new head unit. it should open up the stock speakers a bit because they're actually not that bad. i would get that first. Alpine, Pioneer, Eclipse, Kenwood should be some models to look into and some can come with iPod connectors.

i like this thread cuz i'm wanting to upgrade the headunit and speakers too.

Did you change the HU preset? The xA/B setting is significantly louder than the tC setting.

I know Pioneer and many others can use a PACI controller to hook up steering wheel controls......pain in the butt to do but it does indeed work....check crutchfield for decks and they also have a list of paci that work with them as well.

*nods*

upgrade the HU before the speakers. many units have a remote input you can plug a pacswi into and the pac-swi gets wired to the car.. the programming for it isn't too difficult.

you just need to know how to read and follow directions.

polks are what i'm upgrading mine all to. momo's in the front and the db's in the back

most sq guys will tell you the pioneer premiers are some of the best components for the money. when you start looking at components over the $500 a set mark you're in a different class of speaker.

shupes31 04-01-2009 02:13 AM
