Which type of amp is better?

Frist question what's better a 4 channel amp or a 2 cheannel amp for the speakers? I'm getting compant 2-ways for the front and two-way speakers for the back. The front rate at 75 RMS and the back rate at 65 RMS.

Depends on if you are running 2 or 4 speakers. If running 4 speakers get a 4 channel to save room, wirring. If your running 2 then get a two channel amp.

Nick06tC 05-21-2006 09:32 PM

ohh and by saying if you are running 2 or 4 speakers. Components are still just 2 speakers as far as the amp is concerned. because the speaker out will go to the corssover then split to the mids and tweeters.

well 1 channel = 1 speaker ..... if I were you I would amp them all up if you are gonna do it. 35watts comming out from your headunit will not be the same clarity as a 35watt comming out of an amp.

Well i'll be amping all 4 kicker speakers. I guess from the looks from it i'll get a 4 channel. Like i said before the front are going to be 75 rms and the back 65 rms will this amp be good for all 4?http://www.caraudiodeals.com/product...roducts_id=581

what you dont like audiobahn? Do they make crappy amps? I don't want or can afford the best so is audiobahn a infreior brand. I thought it had to better better then sony explode and does other no name compnaies.

You could always buy a 2 ch amp that is stable at 2 ohm. Then put 2 speakers to each channel. You won't have fading, but a good 2 channl amp will sound better then a crappy 4 channel.
Here is a cheap Kicker for the same price with free shipping:

This does work but is totally not a good idea unless you just want a loud system. This will suck with the actual sound quality because you wont have any sound staging. Everything will be either front or back. So any audio that goes from channel to channel to to create the affect of somthing going by, will sound horrible. (think of a song where a car or plane or something goes by and you hear go from left to right. Instead you will just hear the car or whatever.)

Hmmm, Well i got the Kenwood DDX-8017 which has both front and back rca out. Wouldn't that help out? Okay well how would i wire speakers to a 2 channel then?

It actually sounds good, I had Infinity kappa perfects CS and Kappa rears hooked up to a Cerwin Vega amp and they sounded real good. You have left and right, You just do not have front or back. Left side goes to left and Right side goes to Right. I eventually bought a second cerwin vega amp and split them up. Not much of a difference from a quality point of view.
