Default XB RS 6.0 Nav unit for a tC?

I currently have the Scion Navigation Unit but it doesn't allow for traffic information.

I was wondering if anyone had used the new navi that comes in the XB rs 6.0 and what they thought and if it would fit in the tC? Can you even buy it from Scion separately? and what would it cost?

i just did a RS6.0 for an alarm/remote starter...

she had asked to bypass the the nav for her... its a BT900 sold to scion from pioneer... it had toyota part stickers on the bottom and everything... you can most likely get the unit from the internet for WAY cheaper...

Thanks for the info. Found the Pioneer Avic-F900BT online for anywhere between $580-$1000. Still it's got Flash memory stored navigation data, fully compatible DVD player that plays R/RW discs, takes traffic info (msn direct), and movie listings, seems to be ipod VIDEO capable with an included cable, and has an SD slot. And you can change the lighting colors to one of over 32,000.

Not a bad system to put in the RS....though why couldn't they have come up with this for the tC?

don't think this model has the voice recognition and I always thought bluetooth in a car was a dumb idea (conversation is blasted over the speakers, convo is disconnected when you turn the car off). Plus anyone steals your car or if you have a snoopy girlfriend, they can look through your navi to see who youve called.

Phones are phones, navi's are navi's, no reason to combine the two.

yeah.. and if the bluetooth connection for the phone is cut off, the phone would still continue the conversation.. ON THE PHONE.. unless your phone is that stupid..

why they didn't come up with this on the tC??
uhh.. the AVIC F-series only came out LAST YEAR buddy... (geez man.. the updated firmware for it barely even came out last OCTOBER and the unit came out in JUNE)

ANYONE COULD BUY IT since it came out and install it into their tC...
and MANY HAVE ALREADY.

also... unfortunately MOST people can't drive and talk on the phone at the same time.. and those IDIOTS who do.. caused the hands-free laws to be made in the first place..

it's a not a dumb idea.. but a convenience thing for bluetooth to be built into the audio system..

is it necessary?
well.. is it necessary for you to drive a vehicle?

i don't think so... it's CONVENIENT.

and because of those aforementioned idiots, it's required BY LAW to have a hands-free/bluetooth in some states... and yea, it's a little nice to not have to wear some puny bluetooth thing in your ear while in the car.

.. and for the sake off just killing and smashing the rest of the thread..

it's just a pioneer f-900bt.. yes you can buy it.. (but why buy it from the dealership though?)

and will it fit?.. see comment above about how many people have installed the f-series into their cars already..
