your dealer obviously isn't aware of the service bulletins out for the tC.. and yes the dealer CAN look this up and see that it does exist.. who's right? it's not like that service bulletin is a photochop or something fake.. i already had the service bulletin done on mine and so far it seems to get cold quicker.. same temp, just faster getting there..

if yours is affected have it checked out, it's up to you..

Cause i called them not to long ago and i asked a guy if there were any tsb's out for tc's and he said no.

So whos right?

Put it this way, if we have seen the tsb, they definitely have. They dont readily give those out to the public. And there are many tsbs on the tC (some just informative stuff about installation procedures) as well as every car on the road most likely. He obviously just did not want to look it up and mess with it.

As another poster stated I think the problem is that the new refrigerant used just does not cool as well as the old refrigerant.
I have a 98' caravan that uses r36 freon and it will FREEEEEEZ you out, so I think its not the actual refrigerant it self, some sort of design flaw maybe? Mine is weird, like I posted one day great next day mid fifties on very hot days. Odd.

I went over to the dealer today and still this A/C TSB doesn't show for my car. Mine was bought in august of last year so I figure I'm one before the production change and it takes about 10-15 minutes for mine to cool. The last eight of my VIN are 50010095. Can anybody tell me if I in the green for the TSB?

Well if not, you should be under normal warranty, if the a/c is not cooling somethings wrong, correct?

jjseminole 07-13-2005 12:18 AM

True it'll be covered under warranty. The weird thing is sometimes at night it'll just about freeze you. But at night time it shouldn't be as hard for it to cool. I am just going to make an appointment and have them check it. The worst that could happen is they say its fine, but on the other hand maybe the service dept. can find something to make it run more efficiently.

Them saying yours isnt under the tsb is the reason not to mention the tsb. When you take it in for an issue, simply describe the issue. That way, if it doesnt fall under the tsb they will still find it and correct it under warrranty. If you go in asking for the tsb they will eitehr turn you away if your car does not apply or do the tsb only and give it back, even though the issue may not be actually caused by the "tsb issue".
