2005 TC with hot center console
Hi All.
I am the original owner of a 2005 TC with 107K miles. The car has been ungaraged and living in Florida sun for much of its life, so I am very familiar with hot interior components.
Four days ago the evaporator was replaced. I did not drive it for two days, but yesterday I noticed that my cell phone, which rides around in the back of the two cup holders in the center console was very hot- I thought it might be the phone. I then noticed that a bottle of water in the front cup holder was warm, too. Today, if I put my hand in the cup holder it is hot, and the right (passenger) side of the console feels warm as well- more than the driver side.
This is a new issue- I have no idea if it could be related to work done when replacing the evaporator, but the timing seems suspicious. Any ideas as to why the center console would start overheating?
Thanks!
