Apr 2005 Scion tC Release Series 1.0
A new limited-edition ride from Scion debuts.
Well, Scion has caught on to the "limited numbers make something cool" idea and has released a few limited-edition vehicles. Luckily for everyone, these limited-edition cars are actually cool. Such is the case with Scion's latest limited-edition ride, the Scion tC Release Series 1.0.
For the tC Release Series 1.0, Scion took a regular tC and added a few tasteful cosmetic upgrades. First off, you can get the tC 1.0 in any color you want, as long as it's Absolutely Red. This bright-red hue is not only found on the outside of the car: an Absolutely Red battery tie-down, billet oil cap and strut tower brace find their way into the engine compartment. The folks at Scion felt that the interior needed some color too, so red trim found its way onto the front sport seats.
The tC Release Series 1.0 also gets some sweet 18-inch Enkei rims to compliment the screaming red paint. These rims come in a nice graphite finish, which gives the car a bit of a "mean" look -- which we like. Super-sticky P225/40ZR wrap all four of these Enkeis, enhancing the tC's grip in the corners.
Moving back to the interior of the car, occupants will be hard-pressed to forget that they are in a limited-edition tC. The brushed aluminum door sills and floor mats have the tC Release Series 1.0 logo plastered all over them. Don't worry - all of this badging is very tastefully done.
We forgot one last piece of interior trim: every tC Release Series 1.0 comes with a numbered plaque. This reminds the driver that this car truly is a limited-edition ride.
This full Release Series package only adds $1,775 to the base price, so this is actually a great deal. If you want one of these sport coupes, you better act fast. Only 2,500 of these cars will be made.
