How do you guys do it? Do you go to the scion dealer and have them order the part you want and install it for you? Or do you all just buy the scion stock and do it yourself?

You know its not one or the other. What i can do myself I will try and do, I am by no means a mechanical wizard, and feel you should leave rocket science to the rocket scientists. But with bolt ons and the like I will do myself. Replacing rods, piston heads, porting and polishing, blueprinting.. I'll leave that stuff to the pros. I don't have the time or inclination to do those kinds of things in my garage or my uncles shop Lots of work/time and clean up. and at the end of the day. you don't have a warrenty or a garuntee. Maybe if it were a 88 crx, but not my baby

I do it all myself. From modding to oil changes to car washes. No one touches my cars but me. Then if something gets messed up, I can only blame myself (but I dont mess up )

I bought my car bone stock. I love to work on my car, and I trust myself more than some of the techs I know

Unless it's a warranty issue (like sunroof rattling) or something that a dealer has to do to keep the warranty intact (like the TRD spring or supercharger installation) then I do everything myself. I haven't used any of my free oil changes yet, and probably won't until next winter.

Before someone chews you a new one for not knowing this

A warranty can only be voided if the part added can be proven to have caused or been a part of the reason for whatever problem you have.

I am more inclined to fix computers than cars. It doesn't mean I don't have a desire to learn, but I really have zero experience in repairing cars. I can do oil, tires, and perhaps some other stuff, but as for anything else I tend to prefer the trained people. Though after today, I'll probably be learning more on my own.
