anyone have a grinding sound under harsh braking during turn
didnt see anything in technical unless it was suspension or aero stuff, yadee yadee.
So it does not sound like any ABS I have ever heard of, my car makes a mean grinding scraping sound when flying into a parking lot turn and having to slam the brakes as I turn.
eitehr right or left, doesnt matter. THe mixture is HArd braking,. AND turning./
so is this car designed too low somewhere STOCK from the factory to do a diving turn without grinding something.
My speed is usually going from 30 to 5 FASt, but nothing too crazy like racetrack speeds. Any help greatly appreciated because I LOATH taking a car into service.

It's probably the EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) activating the ABS on your inside rear tire (which would get light and lock up during the maneuver you describe.)
Kurve, I think you meant "CV boot" as in "constant velocity".

I think maybe its time to do a forced fast stop in a straight line and see if that is indeed the unique sound of this cars abs.
5,000 miles is a bit too early for something brake related to be failing, so ABS or EBD is probably the anser.
ill pray on it lol

daaaargh now I think this is more like the culprit,
odd since I have been in no car accidents and only ONE pothole since buying new.

My car makes a weird creaking/grinding noise when I drive over speedbumps at 70mph. Any thoughts?
How hard are you slamming on your brakes? Did you mean under emergency situations--someone pulled out in front of you--or daily driving?

The ABS in these cars is easy to set off and is quite loud. . . louder than the previous vehicles I've owned. I dunno if that is the particular noise you are talking about. I've also noticed that when I pull the ebrake and spin, my abs goes crazy!

That's what I was going to say. Haha. You shouldn't be turning the wheels and slamming on the brakes anyway. Its probably your pads ripping themselves apart. You don't drive a race car, you drive an economy car. Unless you get some 13" Brembos, you need to drive it like one.

you tires only have so much grip
if you are useing 70% of your grip turning into a parking lot fast, then you slam on your brakes 50% then you run out of grip and slide then the ABS will kick in
So if you are useing 70% of your grip turning then you only have 30% of your grip left to either brake or accelerate

SO then im doing a decent amount of brake force while needing to turn in sharply.
Lets just assume I never want to clip the car coming OUt of the lot as I go IN.
and I will hear that annoying grinding sound. Keep forgettting to abs this car in a straight line though. someone will think I am on the crack rock I guess.
weeeeeee! crack rocks

Would it be your tires moving on the asphault? If you are talking about a noise other than that (besides the normal chug chug sound of the power steering pump, then you have a problem. I'd get the dealer to fix it under warrantee.

finally bothered to tax the brakes a bit
the sound was my abs only, clamping ABS had me tricked for grinding, but rolled the tires in some puddles so they were good and slippery. Got the ABS going real easy this way, and confirmed the sound is normal . yadee yadee yadee
Zero defects then still
