Anything I should know before buying a tC?
so I've managed to hold off on buying the tC (if you read my post a while back)... but the Sentra isn't holding up with the rough weather and all...
so.. I was wondering if there's anything I should know before I get one.. if that date comes up soon...
Any particular problems I should ask about... or look for...
Should I ask for better tires on the car (someone said the stock ones were pretty crummy)?
And are there any dealer options that I should seriously consider... or is it the same general rule as getting an xB:
get it bone stock and
purchase all options after market b/c its cheaper?

does that alarm include stuff like ignition kill... I remember being underwhelmed by the xb alarm...
Also i guess I should've added... what's the deal with the side airbags? yea? nea? effect on insurance?.. and why are the side airbags and the autodimming mirror mutually exclusive? Could I get side airbags and have another an aftermarket autodimming mirror?

Side air bags cost $650, but you'll save at least that amount in insurance over a 1 1/2-2 years depending on how old you are.
The problem with the auto-dim mirror/side-air is that they run along the same wiring, so the auto-dim mirror could cause the side-air bags to malfunction or not work at all

The tires will be just fine. The people complaining on how they are crummy, are either driving to fast for the snow, or are driving hard and cornering like a mother everywhere. They are good tires, not bad, but not the best either.

The tires are Potenza RE92s which are crap simply put. They will work well for standard driving. Any turns, auto x, major driving, or hard snow driving, or some rain they arent so hot. They slip very easily on dry pavement and their traction isnt that great. In the rain expect some wheel hop but they do stick to the ground. Dont take them auto xing or anythnig like that bad news. And in the snow they will work ok for all seasons but dont expect miracles. I've had these on my previous 4 subarus and plan on upgrading them on my scion soon, I love the stock rims, probably will jstu go with some nice summer tires, and then a set for winter if I decide to stay in the chicago area.

Potenza RE92's are OEM on a lot of cars especially in NE. They aren't bad all-weather tires. They are predictable and tend to give you plenty of warning. They sidewalls aren't terribly stiff and there are better tires out there. I personally wouldn't pass up a car because of the oem rubber.

Get it as stock as possible. I have the autodimming mirror and i love it. but, i got it for free. dont get the 6 disc b/c you will swap that out i'm sure. go with the body kit and/or the spoiler. I wish i had of. There are plenty of good aftermarket springs out there to lower it. dont get the mudguards. get the lights if you want that sort of thing. dont get the strut bar, you can get the DC sports on ebay for cheap. I got mine for $87. Leather upgrade would be nice, but Katzkin looks hott and ab ouyt the same $$$.

Get it stock, if you are **** about your alarm being stock and with your stock key, get it. But imo, you can do way better with a top of the line Viper that has 2-way paging and much much better features.

whoa seriously? I definately gotta ask about that... the dealer said nothing about that when I got my xB..
the xB alarm I have is not OEM but still uses the original remote door locks.

I believe Viper has a 1yr or 2yr warranty comparable to that also. I would rather get a nice alarm and have it 2way me. Around here, break-ins are more common than stolen vehicles.
