buzzer for leaving headlights on?

hey, just realized that my car doesn't make a peep when I leave the headlights on and turn off the engine/open the door. is this normal? Can't imagine that it would be, but figured that I'd ask here first. THANKS!!

they turn off automatically

TheDanger 10-15-2004 03:06 PM

*edit* since I have a box I dont know ____ about the tC  *edit*

edit: Crap. Now I'm getting as bad as my gf with not reading directions... hopped back in the car and it looked like the lights on the dash were still on. Figured that the main lights were still on as well.

I don't think mine make any noise at all either. In fact I left them on yesterday when I went in to work. I came out 8 hours later and the car started right up with no problem and the lights were off. So, yes they must turn off automatically like was mentioned. :)

Most tC owners are young and this is often their first car.

If tC owners are so beneath you why do you waste your time in the tC forum?

Why don't the xB headlights turn off automatically like in the tC? Anyone know how to modify them to turn off when the key is removed?

As said above, they turn off automatically when you open the car door. Also, if you turn the car off, you can operate the roof until you open the door.

It's a smart car.

I thought I read in the manual that the roof operates for 43 seconds after you turn off the engine?

Aha!!! From the manual located right here on my desk: "If both side doors are closed, it works for 43 seconds even after the ignition switch is turned off. It stops working when either side door is opened."

See???? Manual *is* good for something.

techwolf 10-15-2004 07:40 PM

Ah, ok: 43 seconds. I never tried it after that long.

hawkeye 10-15-2004 07:59 PM

43 seconds is a strange number... wonder how the engineers came up with that?

nomis_nehc 10-15-2004 08:38 PM
