Anyone else have their Check Oil Light come on in their tC yet? If so, when? Mine only has 2200 miles.. I was going to change the oil soon anyway, but is that normal?

The oil looks clean on the stick, and it's not low.. Could this be a problem? Shoudl I be worried about driving it?

The manual says to take the car to the dealership if the light comes on.. which isn't easy for me since I live 3 hours away from the closest dealership.

 

Is it the maintenance required light or the oil pressure warning light?!

The yellow "Maint Req'd" (Maintenance Required) light is supposed to come on every 5000 miles to tell you need an oil change. The red Oil pressure warning light should not be on when the car is running, you better have the dealer check that out right away! In fact I'd call the dealer first and ask then what to do cuz it may not be safe to drive the car if there's a problem with the oil pressure, you could damage your engine.

from experience, the oil pressure light should only come on if the oil is extremely low...

I had an altima that was leaking oil very slowly when i was driving it...

By the time the light came on, i literally had no oil in the car...

all my lights have been off and my car is up to 4000 in 1 month, EXCEPT THE TIRE PRESSURE. i had tat thing com up 5-7 times already. i dunno shoud i go get it chek at the dealer?!

call the dealer n talk to them over the phone before you make any moves.

 

Read your manual on how to calibrate your tire pressure monitor. If i remember, you need to put the car into the "ON" position while at a stop, and push and hold the tire pressure button in the glove box until the light blinks on your dash.

 

Nope, got it from Charlie's Scion in Augusta the same day they came off the truck. It's Flint Mica.

 

I feel like an idiot. It's the check engine light.. Idunno why I immediatly thought "oil" but when I turned on the car this morning it's the check engine light.. not sure why that's on either though. Must have been a blonde moment.. although my hair is the wrong color, I think my girlfriend has infected me.

Any recommendations on what to check?

I'm going to unhook the battery terminal for a few minutes before I go to work, and hope that it doesn't come back on.

The manual doesn't seem to be much help.. it just says to take the car to your dealer if the light comes on.

Did you close the gas cap enough? with many cars now if you dont click the gas cap around far enough the light will come on.

 

have you hooked up a obd ii scanner yet mine came on because the evac system easy fix time consuming.
