Question Replace/Install Front Door Tweeters??

Does anyone know what I need to have done in order to install and wire the new tweeters correctly? I just purchased some Alpine Type-S component speakers and I'm not sure how to correctly wire the tweeters.
A lot of the DIY's I have found are very vague or don't even mention installing any of the speakers with additional wiring harnesses and what not. All experienced people chime in at this time please.

The Alpine Type-s speakers don't come with an external x-over network, if you take them out of the box you will see a pretty long wire that has a black passive x-over that plugs into the woofer there will be four terminals, two for the woofer and the others go to the x-over network for the tweeters.

Really? Alright. How would I disconnect the stock tweeters correctly in order to run the new tweeters supplied with the speakers? I read that running the stock and aftermarket tweeters without the correct setup can make the audio sound all distorted or something like that.

The stock tweeter should be held in by clips or a metal bracket. I would just take it off the bracket and use a strong adhesive to mount the new tweeter in the same location. You don't want to run both sets of tweeters, they have different x-over points so it will sound kind of weird. The alpine tweeters are so much better then the poop factory speakers.

Well how would you wire them for the new setup? Splice?

the only thing you have to splice is the woofer, the tweeter's input is on the extra terminals of the woofer thats where you will connect the inline x-over to the tweeter.

left font speaker + is pink/ - is purple.

right front speaker + is light green/ - is blue.

That will be the only thing you have to splice into. and i recommend soldering your connections.

Oh I figure I could just buy those wire harnesses that hook up to the OEM connections that are hooked up to the stock speakers to the new ones and splice the wires so the new tweeters could work.

If they're like my components with an inline sound filter, all you need to do is put the connector on the end of the OEM wires, hook them up, and the tweeters connect into the woofer. It's a lot simpler than you think.

You're a life saver.. My klipsch soundbar recently died so I want to pull the 2.5 inch cones out of it and put them the dash. The current tweeter's are just about petrified..
