the daily grind
So Ive been getting a grinding when going from 1st to 2nd the cars an 09 with 8500 miles on it. it started back in the winter when the engine was cold now its getting worse does it at random times even with the engine fully warm .
my question is well since i heard they will void your warranty if you have a short shifter i have a twm stage 2 ss so i wondering if i replace the shifter with the stock one will i be good warranty wise? will they look at the area under the gear shifter inside the interior? the housing for the shifter was slightly damaged while the short shifter was being installed

Just take it in an tell them what it is doing. Don't mention any other parts or anything you've done. It is not relevant. If the transmission is bad, it is bad. A short shifter is not going to cause that.
Just take it in and tell them what is wrong. That's it.

a short shifter wouldn't do anything like that...
you shifting incorrectly would though... so at that point.. the short shifter caused you to shift improperly would be the logical reasoning..
