Calibrating a chip to nothing but the board it is being installed in? Couldn't they just take an ECU from another vehicle identical to yours and have it calibrated when it gets to you?

I've worked in some shady dealings before, always sell an intangible that nobody really understands and you can mark it up tons.

PC's getting "Optimizations"
Enema's to get that last 5lbs of undigested crap out of your ___.

Things that probably are improvements but don't equal thier cost. Spend your money on a proven mod. A VVT-i is an economy engine with intelligent controls to get the most out of it. Modifing its internal workings just confuses the rest.

Im not sure if that would. I thought I read the the Echo has a some what different ECU then the Scions are running. So I would be :? about something like that.

so what would be differetn. I though it was the exact engine setup like every keeps talking about. I mean if its not the same but very similar than one would have to custom program it right?

Yeah thats the same thing I was wondering about. I think it could be a slight change to deal with the final drive difference from the echo to the scions. I dont see how that would change anything, but it might. I will see if I can do a search & get some more info.

Edit: The only thing I found was this https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...&highlight=ecu not sure if that question was asking about this or what. I guess you could try it, or even email jet & ask them if it will work.
