Engine trouble?
Ok this has nothing to do with the accident, but for the past week when I started my car the engine would start, but it would sound like it was going to die out. Today when I started it it stalled out. It started the second time though.
I have no idea why. I called my Toyota dealership and they're going to look at it. It should be under warranty. My dad said that usually happens and told him its not supposed to because its not below 60 degrees out. I checked the battery and its also fine. Im thinking it may be from when my friend messed with the transmission. Ugh this is sucking.

sounds actually like the MAF is dirty, loose, etc....other thing to check first...make sure the coil packs arent loose. The first coil on plugs designed used to come loose causing very simular instances.
4 things make a motor run: Air, Fuel, Compression, and Spark. Sounds like Air or Spark to me

Ok thanks. I don't know what those parts are, but they'll look into it. It only happend when the cars sitting for a day baiscally. Also, in my other topic I stated this woman hit my car. I mean its fine and runs, but Im not getting it fixed yet. Will Toyota say that because she hit it its her fault? I have no idea.
This car is giving me head aches now. I still love it though.

Ive also turned off the car with it still in drive, wow i really suck!
I guess it depends on where ya live too...I just remembered a friend telling me how humid the mid-west can get. The MAF is the little black square sensor that bolts to your intake hose. Im wondering if when it sits its getting covered in condensation or something, that's why its hard to start.
Try this too...this is a really obvious one. When you dont drive your car much the alternator never gets a good chance to put a charge on the battery, so when you dont drive for a day if the battery is already low on charge, its possible the clock is running it down enough to give you a hard start. Try disconnecting the battery for the day you dont drive your car, then hook up the battery (just take the negative off then put it back on when you go to drive) and try to start it....does it still have a hard start?
I see this at work alot because I live in a town with alot of edlerly people that drive like 8miles a week, and only on Sunday to church. They always _____ that we sold them a bad battery when really its because after a month of starting once a week without driving it far enough, it ends up getting so low it wont start.
g'luck

Alrite thanks. Im still going to bring it in though. I only had the car since Janurary so I don't think its the battery and I looked at the sensor and its good, so I don't think it would die out. IDK what the problem is though. Ill see.
I dont think turning the car off while it's driving is that bad. Maybe I'm wrong, all it really does is cut power to the tranny, like getting off the gas really quickly. The shock wouldnt be enough to mess anything up... Although I'm not sure how you *accidentally* turn the car off while your driving... lol.

As an added benefit, your battery will have more time to charge while you reset your radio stations as well as the clock.
Trust your dad, kid. Learn not to sweat the small stuff. You know, like worrying about the few miliamps of current it takes to drive that clock.
