nice pick up! That front end is for some fogs though!

mileoutrage 01-13-2010 04:00 AM

190whp not to bad for out of the box, and 212 lb torque according to mode racing baseline

ATP upgrade ftw

stevejohns29 02-18-2010 06:12 AM

* a little update.. The car has been reflashed and is now running 20 psi instead of the stock 10 psi. It hold about 15 steady to redline then dies down to about 12 at 7400 rpm. I also increased the rev limit to 7400 up from 6500.. I would like to thank Poweraxle for that!

Its now about around 235 whp and about 280 lbs of torque.. Still got a long way to go!

Cronic 02-18-2010 10:04 AM

This could be intrigueing I'm looking for an upgrade over my civic soon you'll have to let me know how the car is around 100k miles

pwee08 02-18-2010 03:36 PM

what i don't on the car is that it looks so big but when you step inside there isn't much room. The trunk is tiny as heck and the back seat lol make sure you got small legs or just dont let no one ride with you. dope car since its RWD+Turbo=goodness but eehhhh i wouldn't buy one id wait for the FT-86, Evo,Mazda or new wrx

CarbonXe 02-18-2010 03:42 PM

Nice upgrade! I was going to buy a 3.8 Track, but I opted to go for a more practical vehicle lol. Get a PowerAXLE reflash ASAP. The 2.0t NEEDS the extra power lol.

No way would I buy another Hyundia, to many rebates and no resale value. Stan

OMG STAN IS BACK! LMAO

for the price of what you'll pay for either of those cars your looking in the wrong territory.

The ft is gonna be around 40k and probably more due to demand and your evo and wrx's are still around 27 out the door and the same with the mazda.

TheQuietThings 02-18-2010 10:33 PM

FT86 around 40k? I must see where you read that.
Toyota themselves has been saying they want the car to hit just around the 20k price point.

vettereddie 02-18-2010 10:46 PM

Nice, didn't know the R-Spec was released yet. If you get tired of the black finish HKS BOV, let me know. I've got a silver one I'm looking to trade for black to match the black powdercoated piping.

just bought my tc from the toyota dealership in az here. The sales manager is the one who told me that they are saying around 40k

Yeah, if a FWD tC is 18k, something tells me adding a 6-speed RWD, upgraded suspension, brakes and a turbo is going to push it well past the 25k mark.

I got the PowerAxle reflash... well worth the money! increases boost to 20 psi, increases rev limiter, eliminates rev hang, and eliminates the top speed governor.. plus you can always get a custom tune once i upgrade the turbo :)

This isnt an actual black HKS.. i repainted it myself.. if you look closely.. its two-tone.

vettereddie 02-20-2010 12:04 AM

I see now, might just need to steal that idea from ya.

creamyxb2 02-20-2010 04:25 AM

nice ride. should be fun to drive in the snow. and a mess on the turnpike.

stevejohns29 04-23-2010 03:18 AM

A little update.. I just ordered a new FMIC from buschur racing with a new BOV and short ram intake.. im getting the large race core.. Im hoping for it to arrive in the next week and ill have installed pictures soon after :)

Looking to make it a stage 2 by summer (retune with catback will put me at around 250 whp and 300 lbs or torque) then hopefully stage three by the end of summer. (retuned again with a small turbo upgrade, 300 whp and 300 lbs of torque)

Should be fun to drive then :)

Their current models are winning car of the year awards, receiving raving reviews, backed up by awesome warranties and people still think of Hyundai as they did back in the 1990s. At the end of the day, yes it is a Hyundai, we're glad you know what the badge represents however the Hyundai of the past is no longer, try expanding your horizons instead of living in the past.
