my brother has a new 07 tC with 1300miles on it, today he said his check engine light went off and i dont know why.. coz i didnt get that on my car

holiday til monday and we have to wait til tuesday for this.

Ya, that could be just about ANYTHING without knowing what was or wasn't done to the car recently. Probably not much help here without some details.

 

BONE STOCK only mod is the one that came from dealer trd muffler.

 

Recently get gas and forget to tighten the gas cap 3 or 4 clicks?? If not that, just take it to the dealership and let them pull the code.

tried the gas cap... not that one..

its so weird because the car is new and everything looks ok.....

 

Is it the check engine or maint req'd light? The two are different, just a shot.

 

What would throw the Maint. light though at only 1300 miles That light is only there for reminding you to change the oil correct? What was he doing before the light came on?

Well the "looks ok" test won't help here. Most likely one of the sensors is reading out of range...atleast enough for the ECU to think something is wrong and throw a code.

 

If it's brand new with only 1300 miles on it, and no mods were done, I'd take it to the dealer ASAP.
