help on removing part...

Default help on removing part...

i need to remove the silver plate beneath the shifter on an automatic? ya know...the part that says...P, R, N, D..., can you just pull it off...i'm scared of breaking it so if anybody has done this or knows how to take it off...any help would be great...

First why do you want to take that out? The silver plate that your taking about is not held bye any thing that you have to remove. all you have to do is pull in it. It's held in place by clips. be carefull cause that plate isn't that stong. good luck

should i push it in to pop out the clips then? or simply just pull at the edge of it?

pull n it gently if i remember right there should be four clips
