If you do have full coverage on your car, then your insurance should cover it. The front bumper itself is about $250. Getting it painted will probably cost you an additional $200. Installation of the bumper itself you can do on your own pretty easily so you are looking at about maybe $500 out of pocket if you buy it yourself, have it painted, and install it yourself. If you have your insurance pay for it, all you have to pay for is the deductible, which will hopefully be less than $500. Also, knowing body shops, they're going to find stupid ways of making an easy fix expensive just to get the most money they can. In that case, its better to go with the cost of the deductible.
My insurance paid to get my front end repainted and also replaced my front windshield because i drove through a dust storm. Since the OEM paints pretty crappy, my car came out of it with freckles and lots of chips on my windshield. I only paid a $200 deductible, the total bill from the shop was $1000+.
