I am not 100% on that but if you search for the same thing and just type 2008 in you should find one for roughly the same price.

Yea im leaning towards that lock module. Its not too expensive and it is the best starting point.

You would have to program your keyless remote to it again but the lock switch on the doors should just automatically start working again.

Was this issue ever resolved? I just purchased a TC with an identical issue. Remote flickers lights with unlock button, but not with the lock button. Internal lock buttons do not function, and I cannot open the trunk. Was it the keyless entry module, and where is it located?

It's been quite some time. Did you ever find the cause of this issue?

no i did not. infact i sold it about 3-4months ago. i believe it was needing a New Keyless Entry Reset from Factory. but i never got it fixed, they tried telling me it was Wires but theres no way since it worked when i got it. Has got to be a Hard Reset and Reprogam to the ECU idk. but either way i dont have it anymore :/

Hi Folks, got a 2008 TC for my daughter. Only one key. Bought another one off eBay. Now want to program the remote as a first step. Want to program the new one in addition to the existing one. Followed the steps from here:
2008 Scion TC

I am getting into the programming mode as the car locks/unlocks as the confirmation. If I proceed with pressing both buttons, then just lock as instructed with the new remote, nothing happens. If I do it with the old one, I get the lock/unlock confirmation from the car.

Suspicions if the new keyremote is no good but little red light is flashing correctly. Want to find out if the whole system should be reset so I did the whole procedure again but now wanted to enter the other modes to see it erasing would help as outlined in step 7.
7. Switch ignition ON and OFF once to program a remote while
retaining the original codes. Switch ignition ON and OFF twice
to program remote while erasing the original code. Switch ignition
ON and OFF three times to check how many remotes are currently
registered or five times to erase all registered remotes.

BUT I do not get the lock/unlock confirmation from the car if I do switch ignition ON and OFF 2x 3x or 5x. Non of them seem to work but the simple 1x. What am I missing? Is the above 7th step correct for entering the other modes? I suspect there are maybe too many old remotes registered and I need to erase first? Any help would be much appreciated.
