Default the infamous tc rattle, or something else?

so I've had my car for a month, and when i'm not blasting my music I can hear this weird sound. It sounds like a squeaky rattle coming from my wheels. It happens when im driving over certain surfaces. I dunno if this is the infamous rattle tc owners seem to have, cuz this sounds more like a cricket chirping rather than metal bumping against metal.

any ideas?

If it sounds like a cricket, it's probably a squeak in your suspension or struts which may work itself out within the next 1000 miles.

I had that sound for the first 6 months of owning the tc then it turned into the rattle...

I'm always blasting my music so it doesn't bother me...but it'd sure be nice to kill that cricket...

probably THE most annoying sound ever, I thought it was coming from either my suspension or the dash, since usually it comes up when i drive over rough roads. I was wondering if the dealer would be able to fix it

You could definitely have them check it. No harm in that... They'll probably tell you that they can't replicate the problem, but tell them to take it out to test it.

if its the dash... lithum grease takes care of it... I only just heard the lil cricket for the first time because i forgot to turn on my radio. Oh yeah the 07 dash is a lil different... its all plastic, i think i saw a picture somewhere where the squeaking was because of a metal tab. anyways theres 3 lil plastic rods under the vent (on the piece you take off). If u look at them u can see why they squeak...

def take to the dealer have it fixed now rather than have it bother you more and more later. The infamous tC rattle and buzzing comes from the roof. Noticable. Some have it in the front sunroof, others in the metal crossmember between the 2 sunroofs and some, like me, had it everywhere! Haha, fixed mine though. Dropped the headliner and anything that moved i sprayed down with spray foam

Here is a link with a few pix about the dash "cricket" squeek.

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...166&highlight=

This issue seems to be coming up more and more. There are three prongs on the back of the dash above the radio slot and the below the vents. Its the plastic rubbing on the prongs and the connecting peices. Some have used mounting tape and other I guess have used glues to keep the plastics from rubbing.

Sounds like the radio door squeek that I have too. Closing the radio door and putting pressure on it for a moment makes it go away for me.

That worked for me for a little bit for me but it just got worse and worse. Its pretty easy to fix, it only takes a few minutes to pop everything off.
