Key Under Warranty?

Hey, does anyone know if our keys are under warranty? I don't know if it's considered wear and tear but the rubber where the buttons are, are starting to crack some pieces fell off. Does anyone know?

i don't think they are, not positive though.

I don't think our keys are under warranty, unless it was a manufacture defect. The dealership would probably deem it wear and tear and not cover it under warranty. You know how some dealerships are... If the dealership is nice enough, they might cover it?

You'll just have to ask the dealer, worst they can do is say 'no'. Good luck!

If its not wear and tear, it should be. I mean, its integral to operating your car - kind of like if your wheel fell off, that'd be a problem too. Can't operate your car without the key.

Mine is being replaced UNDER WARRANTY at the dealer on Thursday . Mine cracked from obvious wear and tear . The plastic is put under pressure each time you start your car . The metal cut key actually came out in the ignition . Anyway . They had to see it then talk to a rep about it to get it oked . Those damn things are expensive and POORLY made . Plastic crap .

it probably all depends on which dealer you go to......most are shady after they sell you the car.....they don't care about you and act like they don't know you
