Manual vs Automatic
hey i was wondering, because i know it varies between cars, how much difference will i see in speed when choosing between auto and manual? i dont care about tenths of a second and not drag racing the tc. any other input is welcome

what are you asking then, top speed? 0-60 times rounded to the whole second? I'm a little unsure of what you mean, since you rule out tenths of seconds, and drag racing, two of the most common measurements when talking about speed.

I think hes talking about acceleration and so forth but that would fall under the 0-60 times trust me the auto isnt faster , but the tc has a good and torquey motor so you wont be underpowered if you went auto . I have had other four cylinder autos and the tc by far has the best acceleration for auto that I have seen in a while .

I seem to recall the dyno's showing less hp/tw at the wheels on the autos.....or was I imagining that?
For me the benefits of the auto (1 mpg better, no shifting in traffic) are far outweighed by fun/sport factor on the manual

well mostly you're going to feel the "pull" of the manual model.. since the gearing is lower causing the rpm's to go higher and have more power.. in the automatic it's nice but not as strong as the manual model.. where the automatic is nice is on the highway, still has the pull but gets better fuel economy, because it's turning lower rpm's..
between the manual and auto, you'll only feel a 0.5 second difference from 0-60mph.. which is a blink of an eye..

well i believe mpg is slightly always better on a manual but neglible. i dont race but i do know that manual..when done properly..will always be faster. it's just you always see the timings on 0-60 on manual and never on auto. so i was wondering the difference. and since like one member said..it should only be 1/2 a second...i can deal with half a second since i prefer driving automatic. ill still be throwing a super plus accessories in the car though lol
