Default NA or FI

2az-fe is an inline 4 with a compression ratio of 9.6:1 pumpin out 160 hp at the front wheels

9.6:1 tats a pretty nice lookin # for both NA n FI (force induction).

so wich way shoud i go?!

you could go either way. the 2.4L displacement could be used for NA, or you could use the semi-low compression ratio to go FI under low boost (low boost nowadays is considered under 15 psi, but i wouldnt push it). just keep in mind no matter which way you go, when you get to a certain point, you will break things and it will most likely void your warranty.

im not to worried bout warranty at all. im not sayin tat i have a lot of $$. im ony a college student tryin to get by. i was jus curious on wat people woud pick because.

turbos r the kool ting to have. they are mak your car fast. and everyone luvs the sound of a blow off valve

NA is even cheaper. n stil fast. it sounds better den a riced up car. n its totally sleeper.

9.6:1 wit a 2.4L... tats a very very nice combo.

NA isnt necesarily cheaper. all depends on how much you wanna put in..as for the 160hp to the front wheels, its actually 160 hp to the flywheel..as for your poll question, im still undecided as well as you. if i do NA, im not gonna go all out and build up my internals and what not (which would be expensive)..im still debating how much money i wanna put into this car thas why...cuz if im gonna spend a lot of money, im gonna go FI

hahaitzskippy... stop with all the shorten words when you are typing. It so annoying to read, and stupid. Your a college student.. you don't need to say "den" for then, or "n" or and... just say the other 2 words

I don't know what I'd do. I don't drive a tC but theres something about fast NA cars that is more respectable than fast FI cars. I don't know how else to put that, but thats the general vibe from other forums that I've gotten. When you beat someone in a race an you talk to them after and they just assume you had a turbo, and you get to say "Sorry but I'm NA", theres something to it...

But I still dunno, you can get faster with the turbos so...

I feel that NA has more bragging rights too.

I would rather use forced induction than use nitrous and be NA. Most of these NA guys you claim are also running nitrous more than likely. When it comes to that I prefer F/I since it is always there.

N2o is off the topic (if you don't consider it FI, which some people do but I don't..anyway tho...), I didn't refer to any other people than myself, and I don't have a N2o setup. I think you read my post backwards...or something. :?:

Yeah yeah NA has more bragging rights up untill the forced guys start their engines - Everyone loves blowers and turbos, they sound cool and tend to be the faster cars.

No I got the point, but the "underdog" less is more thing works better on paper. The reality is that 99% of the passenger cars on the planet are naturally aspirated and forced induction is different and exciting.

Huh? We aren't talking about passenger cars coming with stock turbo, and the % of NA stock cars is no where near 99%...
The bragging rights from NA come from that anyone can put on a turbo and be fast but it takes more $ and know-how of what you can and need to do to get faster without FI...geez...

Ha - well I say bragging rights also come from exclusivity - and FI is an exclusive crowd to be in - whether your car came with one or you put it on does not effect that exclusivity. And yes, I do think that 99% or more of all passenger cars are NA - Turbo cars are relatively low production and there aren't that many FI models to begin with - Everything else (Tempo, Taurus, Camry, Corolla, Cavalier and oh my god the list goes on and on with each of those platforms and all their derivatives selling millions.) is high production with each model selling a few Hundred thousand a year. Just cause you went out and bought a new Murcielago doesn't mean you don't have some pretty impressive bragging rights.

The murcielago is an extreme example but i see what your getting at. I still don't really agree though, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
