i just put the injen super ses axle back on my 08 last night and i love it so far, took it around block, sounds great, driving to work in a few and get to really hear it, total install including removing old exhaust was like 30 min tops. Pics and sound clips to come this weekend

Who gives a 17 year old kid a 2008 vehicle?? What planet are you FROM??

--Please. I'd very much like to understand this. My 16 year old daughter feels SHE deserves one.

NOT!

Parents that feel their kid is responsible and needs a reliable vehicle to make it through college and the early years of their life. I think that sounds somewhat reasonable to me.

I'm guessing you don't have a teenager....or a Mortgage.......and have a second job to pay the KID's insurance (which would be out of this world expensive!!) oh yes...and the car payment!

I ask again: What planet do you people COME from??? Reliable dosen't have to equate to brand new and you know it.

NO teenager deserves a brand new car....unless your last name is HOWSER.

End of story.

I'f I'm being an ___....by all means say so. (If you're old enough to HAVE a teenager, that is!)

Good comeback! Still with "ur" though....and not much to do with what I was saying.

I wasn't trying to be clever OR funny....just sane. No teen w/ one year of driving experience should have a brand new vehicle. It's just an all-around BAD idea. He/she will NEVER learn to value what it takes to earn that kind of a purchase if it's simply given to them. My twins leave dollar bills in the floorboard of my mother's car cause she gives them whatever they want. They're 11. It's the same argument on a less grand scale.

I appologise for the ranting and offending you all. I am not going to convince anyone because most of you are only a couple years past 17 and are already driving a new(er) car.

As for a suggestion for an exhaust system...

I love my full Megan Racing system. It was not too expensive (about 600 dollars with wrap and silicone coating) and adds a good amount of power and torque. No CAT, but that's not in an issue in cow-country! It sounds good and should outlast the car.

Please forgive me and I'll go quietly back to just reading the tech sections....

---Paul

I agree with paulky. I would never trade my tC for anything now that I have it, but if my dad had never even let me on to the idea of having a new car, I wouldn't have thought anything of it. I would have much wrather put a used Civic into the curb, than when I put my tC into it.

I had two POS cars before buying my tc. I put zero down and my payments are hovering just above $400 a month. Insurance is also crazy (200/month) for me at 19.

I'm 19, and I really hate it when I see people my age or younger, or even slightly older.. hell I just hate seeing people driving around brand new/really nice cars that have been GIVEN to them. Girl I liked in highschool got a brand new car given to her about 5 months after getting her PERMIT. I think that most people are going to have atleast one accident/fender bender/ hit the curb ____up in their first 2-3 years of driving. So, if your buying the car yourself, its prob not a good idea to buy a brand new car as your first car. As nice as it is, and as badass as it makes you seem.

But, to end my rant, I hate kids who have new cars/ etc. handed to them on a plate in highschool. I can't count on my hands how many kids I've known, let alone heard about friends of friends that completely destroyed very very nice cars given to them by parents.

I'm 19, my kids going to learn how to drive on my 08 scion tc. And I'm not married or with a baby on the way or anything, so basically assured that my kids first car is going to be 16-20 years old (barring I dont sell it before then, but I have no intentions to).
